History of eWillys

Founded in 2008 by David Eilers, Dave created and ran the site from 2008 to 2024.

eWillys is a collection of stories, documents, and links to Willys Jeep Ad’s.

Dave was a super talented person whose ability to find, collect, catalog and share all things Willys was just amazing. Viewers would wake up grab a cup of coffee and check in daily to see Dave’s finds and read his stories and check out his latest post.

Helping people connect with this Old Iron was Dave’s specialty, he was a natural helper and always one to lend a hand to find a odd or rare part. Then of course follow up with the unique knowledge of the various specialty parts and pieces.

The eWillys community spans the globe and is a great collection to review and share, the archive is over 60,000 posts 90,000 comments and countless images, ads, brochures, manuals. It truly is an unknown total count since the early days were static links that have since been expired over the years.

We lost Dave to Cancer in June 2026, he will be missed by all that knew him. Our thought and prayers are with Dave and his family, and the archive is pushed forward in honor of Dave and all that he did to help the Willys and Jeep Community at large.

The New eWillys

At the end of 2024 the site was transferred to a new caretaker Tim Driscoll.

We have currently taken the 60k post archive off-line with a return date in the near future. It is safe and secure with all content preserved.

This current version was relaunched on October 1st 2026, we are working to preserve the archive and hard links for the various sites that have linked to eWillys for various projects over the years.

We Thank everyone for your support over the years and look forward to many more.

Thanks,

Tim
